On 30th January, our Debate Mate team participated in their first competition of the year, held at St. Teilo’s. The seen motion for the event was: “This House Believes that international aid is most effective when delivered through local communities.” The team dedicated significant time to preparation, working closely with their mentors and teaching staff. They were the first to arrive at the competition, utilising their time effectively to refine their arguments and consult with their mentor. Their hard work and dedication paid off, with the team securing 3 out of 4 debate wins. Congratulations to Team Eastern on this impressive achievement. We are proud of their attitude, not only in their successes but also in loss—displaying grace in victory and resilience in defeat.
